John Stewart, Ph.D.

Dr. John Stewart is a licensed psychologist with over thirty years of experience as a mental health consultant to a wide range of public and private schools.  Serving in settings as diverse as the San Diego and New York City Public Schools, to rural schools of northern Maine he is recognized for his breadth of clinical knowledge, creativity, pragmatics and compassion. Through his many university and medical school clinical teaching appointments he has extensive experience in training and supervising social workers, psychologists and child psychiatrists.

In addition to his work as a consultant and clinical instructor Dr. Stewart is co-founder and clinical director of the Maine Special Education / Mental Health Collaborative.  This non-profit serves 17 school districts through a day treatment program for children in grades K-12 with emotional and developmental disabilities and in providing out-reach support to school in developing and managing programs for this population.

In 2002 Dr. Stewart authored a widely acclaimed text, Beyond Time Out - A guide to understanding and serving emotionally and developmentally disabled students in the public schools. 

In addition to his school focused work Dr. Stewart maintains a small private practice serving children and adults with a focus on family intervention.

Anna Turcotte, MSW, LSW

Anna Turcotte is a Licensed Social Worker and has a number of years of experience working with children and families within inpatient, daytreatment and school setting.  She has additionally worked as a "transition coach" for students on the Autism Spectrum transitioning from high school to college.  Outside of work she is snowboarder, gardener and enthusiastic owner of a French Bulldog. 

Anna play's both an administrative and clinical role within the program.
